Brewery District is home to the largest collection of pre-Prohibition
brewery architecture in the country. At one point in the late 1800’s
home to over 18 breweries (out of the more than 36 breweries in greater
Cincinnati), there are dozens of remaining brewery structures
including brewhouses, malthouses, stockhouses, bottling works, stables,
and offices.

Prohibition Resistance: The Industrious Tour
Now - December 2014, Returning April 2015
Offered every Saturday throughout the fall, this one hour walking tour shares the stories of Cincinnati’s industrious brewery workers.
The Industrious Tour starts at the Christian Moerlein Malthouse Tap Room and their historic tap room. Walking through the neighborhood, we'll hear the stories of the workers who made more beer than anywhere else in the country. Guests will visit the new mural celebrating Cincinnati's beer industry, before going deep underground in the historic Schmidt Brothers/Crown Brewery lagering cellars and tunnels, where they will learn how beer was brewed in the days before refrigeration. Returning to the Christian Moerlein Malthouse Tap Room, guests will learn how Cincinnati's industrious nature is returning the spirit to the neighborhood long after Prohibition robbed it.
Please note this is a walking tour through former breweries, and involves walking a few blocks outside and through old buildings.
